Kern County, California Anti-Violence & Abuse Activism




Welcome to the Local Activism section of As Waters Passing By. The purpose of this section is to document anti-violence and abuse activism by the webmistress on a local level (that would be Kern County, California). I started out in activism with the site that is now known As Waters Passing By, and did not expand to working on an offline local level until a bit more recently. This has entailed a number of things, and will also entail some new things as time goes on.

Some ideas include:
  • Writing letters to the editor of the Delano Record and Bakersfield Californian newspapers.
  • Providing RAINN pamphlets and other helpful reading material to the Delano Campus of Bakersfield College.
  • Beginning a stuffed animal project for the Jamison Children's Center.
  • In Kind gifts to Hope for Healing a Christian charity assisting survivors of rape and domestic violence.
